Terms & Conditions – Villagehood

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Villagehood website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use Villagehood.
1. Definitions

User Content means Content submitted by Users.
2. Nature of the Platform
Villagehood is a community-based platform intended to facilitate connection, shared experiences, and access to general information for parents, carers, and families.
Villagehood does not provide medical, mental health, legal, or professional advice. Any information shared on the Platform is general in nature and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Platform, unless otherwise permitted with parental or guardian consent.
By using Villagehood, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
4. User Accounts
You agree to:

Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials

Accept responsibility for all activity occurring under your account
Villagehood reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts at its sole discretion, including where these Terms are breached.
5. Acceptable Use
You must not:

Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose

Post Content that is abusive, harmful, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, or infringes the rights of others

Harass, exploit, or harm other Users

Attempt to interfere with the security or operation of the Platform

Use the Platform for commercial solicitation without consent
Villagehood may monitor, moderate, remove, or restrict Content or access to protect Users and the integrity of the Platform.
6. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of your User Content.
By submitting User Content, you grant Villagehood a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute that User Content solely for the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the Platform.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence.
7. Safety & Wellbeing Disclaimer
Villagehood is not an emergency or crisis service.
If you are in immediate danger or require urgent assistance, contact local emergency services.
Villagehood is not responsible for decisions made or actions taken by Users based on interactions or Content on the Platform.
8. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including trademarks, branding, software, and Content (excluding User Content), are owned by or licensed to Villagehood.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Platform without prior written consent.
9. Third-Party Services
The Platform may include links to third-party websites or services. Villagehood does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of third parties.
Access to third-party services is at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Villagehood provides the Platform on an “as is” and “as available” basis

Villagehood makes no warranties regarding availability, accuracy, or reliability

Villagehood excludes all liability for loss, damage, or harm arising from use of or inability to use the Platform, including User interactions and User Content
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Villagehood from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from:

12. Termination
Villagehood may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms or where reasonably necessary to protect Users or the Platform.
Upon termination, clauses intended to survive will continue to apply.
13. Changes to Terms
Villagehood may amend these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Users submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts.
